David Cottin’s first runner as a trainer became his first winner, Amour Du Puy Noir. To date, David has trained 21 winners including Uroquois who went on to win the Listed Grand Cross de Pau. Other notable horses include D’Vina, who finished 3rd in the Group 1 Prix Renaud Du Vivier and Ajas finishing 3rd in the Group 2 Prix Georges de Talhouet-Roy.
Prior to David Cottin’s career as a trainer, David was a champion jockey in France and crowned the prestigious Cravaches d’Or in 2009, 2010 and 2012. His association with the best players of French hurdle puts him among the legends of his sport. Jacques Ortet offered David the opportunity to ride Rubi Ball, who went on to win the Group 1 Prix La Haye Jousselin in 2010 and 2011, and the Group 2 Prix Jean Stern in 2012 and 2014. For David Windrif, David won the Group 1 Prix Alain du Breil in 2011 with Tidara Angel. Another champion horse is Gémix (pictured above), trained by Nicolas Bertran de Balanda, who won the Group 1 Grande Course de Haies d’Auteuil in 2013 and 2014.
